From one local company to another,
Long Realty recently selected Vision7 Software for software
development related to its Web site and Internet tools.
Including a full, searchable Multiple Listing Service
for Tucson and other nearby locations, the site is “ingrained
into daily operations,” according to one Long Realty
representative. It also includes a Virtual Home Finder,
Virtual Tours, and administrative tools for Long Realty’s
nearly 1,000 agents.
Vision7's role will be the
maintenance and continual improvement of the site. The
partnership, arranged according to Vision7's Venture
Technology Partner model, commits the two companies to a
long-term partnership, through which Vision7 provides its
technological expertise in exchange for royalty arrangements
or equity participation.
Long Realty is southern
Arizona’s largest realtor, recording $2 billion in sales
during 2000.
Web site for speakers
As
streaming audio is now ubiquitous across the World Wide Web
and as researchers continue to dream of practical voice
command computer applications, “speech” is no longer such a
far-fetched subject for the Internet. Accordingly, the
National Speaker’s Association has unveiled its own Web site,
designed and developed locally by Ephibian.
The site
provides resources for professional speakers, such as “Ask the
Expert” information exchange; a searchable archive of
articles, books and videos; and a searchable directory of
speakers.
The NSA encompasses 38 chapters throughout
the United States. Its members include educators, meeting
coordinators, humorists, motivational speaks, authors and
others.
Verizon adds locations
In the
ever expanding wireless communications battle for a share of
the Tucson market, Verizon Wireless has been further
developing its presence in the Old Pueblo throughout 2001.
Already the company has increased digital capacity in the city
by 25 percent.
Now the national telecommunications
giant will add two new retail locations: one in Oracle Village
at 3964 N. Oracle Road, and one in Colonia Verde Plaza at 7245
E. Tanque Verde Road. These two new locations give Verizon a
total of 10 retail stores and kiosks in the Tucson
area.
Sprint offers protection
In light
of the continuing danger of computer viruses, Sprint Broadband
Direct has teamed with Symantec Corp. to begin offering free
security packages upon installation of service during August.
Subscribers will have a choice between several Norton brand
products including Internet Security, Internet Security Family
Edition, Personal Firewall, or Antivirus.
Nextel
selling keyboards
Mobile phones are becoming more
powerful than ever before, with continual advancements in data
and Internet services. Now Nextel, which early this summer
introduced Java enabled phones, has partnered with Motorola
and Think Outside to produce portable keyboards for wireless
phones. The Motorola iBoard works with Nextel Internet-ready
phones to provide the ability to access the Web, launch
applications, compose e-mail messages, and operate other
functions. |
